ABOUT SUSAN SAINT-ROSSY

You can get the specialized performance help you need.

I’m a peak performance expert and licensed mental health professional who specializes in working with high performers who haven’t gotten the help they need from others — coaches, trainers, teachers, psychologists, etc.

I founded Catbird Coaching and Counseling to fill a void for those seeking to improve their performance, using deeper, researched-based protocols that are more effective than mindset work, executive coaching, sports psychology, and other approaches.

please Hear me when I say:

Being here doesn’t mean you’ve failed. It means you just haven’t found the right approach to eliminate performance blocks.

I want you to know that I often help people who are frustrated and feel like they are not doing enough. Maybe their coaches, or trainers, or bosses, or employees, or teachers have even told them that.

Sometimes my clients come full of shame because they aren’t performing to their full potential or getting the results they desire.

With the tools I have at my disposal, this can all change. My approach relies on science-based, research-driven techniques. It can work really really well, better and more quickly than anything else you might have tried.

How I work WITH HIGH PERFORMERS

At the core of this approach are the research-based tools and techniques that can get to the heart of what’s blocking you and help you break through.

I use a peak performance protocol that is adaptable to fit almost anyone’s situation. It is personalized to get to the heart of your specific blocks and unblock you.

In your work with me, we will find what fits for you to increase your ability to perform consistently at your highest level and decreases your stress, burnout, and angst.

A former dancer and anxious performer, I spent may hours-months-years in dance studios learning and practicing my performing art. I understand the devotion and endurance it takes to achieve personal peak performance. I wish I had had the option of working with the “current me” then, as I was hitting blocks and frustrations.

working with me is…

  • This is not a one-size-fits-all program. We work one-to-one. I spend enough time getting to know you and your history that together we can pinpoint what’s really causing your performance issues. The I create a protocol just for you.

  • This work is always as private and confidential as you want it to be. You set the guidelines. I will never share information about our work together without your permission.

  • My clients are often amazed at how powerful this performance expansion method is. I was amazed when I first learned how to incorporate these tools and techniques. People can change quickly and dramatically, leaving their old performance inhibitions and blocks behind.

  • Unlike mindset work and traditional coaching, most of which is only active at the cognitive (thinking) level, this method goes deep into the brain and the body to effect lasting change and coherence.

“Catbird” Coaching and Counseling—Why the funny name?

Because I want you to be in the catbird seat!

“The catbird seat” is an expression that means you are “sitting pretty,” in a place where you have the greater advantage or the upper hand.

Growing up in the southern US, I heard this expression as a child and loved the image.

Red Barber, a 20th century professional baseball sports announcer, used the phrase “sittin’ in the catbird seat” when he observed a team or player playing extremely well.

In 1942, The New Yorker magazine published “The Catbird Seat” a short story by James Thurber, American writer and humorist. (You can read it here.) It’s a funny little story about how a man being bullied at work gets the upper hand and sits in “the catbird seat.”
